Framework Weekly Product Update - Aug 26th, 2022

Dear Friends of Framework,

We must surely be breaking a law of marketing that says never send out an email on a Friday night, but at Framework we like doing things differently.. so here goes! This week we continued our efforts of making it easier for you to build your courses and challenges on Framework. In addition, we added a powerful new email newsletter 💌 functionality which we are hoping you will take full advantage of!

Here’s the latest:

🗞️ Introducing: Newsletter Mode for Spaces!

  • You can now create a post which is also sent as an email to all members of the Space. As a reminder, Spaces are the community discussion area attached to a course or a challenge. You can use this feature to alert your community members about new announcements and / or use it to share your content, delivered straight to their inbox!
  • Note that in order for Newsletter mode to be activated for any particular Space, you will have to disable member comments.

✍️ Add a Unique Description to Media Components

  • As an admin, you will now see a space to enter a description below each media component. This description is unique to each media component and can thus be used to give context around each media media component your members engage with. #itsthelittlethings

🤘 Edit Lesson Text Without Adding a Component, Add In-Line Images

  • As part of our efforts to make Framework easier to use, we’ve made it simple for you to be able to edit the lesson (title, subtitle, and text) without needing to add a component.
  • You can now make your lessons more visually compelling by adding in-line images to the lesson text!

🔄 Components are now Activities

  • We’ve renamed “Components” to “Activities” to help our customers better understand how to get the most out of Framework, because let’s be honest Components was way too jargon-y. D’oh!

🚀 Power Up Your Emails!

  • The Activities for each lesson are now highlighted in emails that go out from Framework informing your members about what is expected of them / what they can do on each step of your course/challenge. What’s cool here is that now these individual activities are “clickable” i.e. when a member clicks on an activity like “Journal” they are taken straight to their journal on Framework. This makes your emails WAY more engaging and interactive! Refer to the image below for a visual representation of what this looks like.
  • When the recipient of the email clicks on the activity, they will be brought straight into the platform and taken directly to the activity! Use this functionality to encourage your members to journal, watch videos and engage with the community!

🚀 Various Improvements to the Lesson User Interface

  • We made it easier for members to exit out of a lesson and return back to the community
  • Lots of small improvements to the sizing of check marks, progress circles, lock icons and others to make lessons more pleasing on the eye
